Atlas Copco will show a range of new products and attachments at Bauma. Mikael Karlsson reports.

In the new heavy duty CombiCutter CC 5000 stability and durability are enhanced by an upgraded design and heavier weight. A robust partner in heavy demolition, this versatile new attachment offers a combination of high crushing force, short cycle times and high dependability.

The most notable design changes on this latest model include redesigned suspension for the body, which is now in one piece, fewer parts in the body, and improved jaw support. Plates are welded in the support area and broader bushes give more surface area.

Concrete Buster CB 2500

The new Concrete Buster CB 2500 is an ideal choice for use with high reach or long front carriers. With its jaw opening of 1.1m and weighing 2.580t, the CB 2500 makes light work of cracking girders and heavy concrete at extreme heights.

Exerting a cracking force of 100t the CB 2500 can crack foundation walls with a thickness of up to 900mm. It is also an effective choice where noise is an issue and can be used in residential areas where hydraulic breakers are not permitted.

SC steel cutter

Designed to cut steel the SC steel cutter is an efficient attachment for industrial demolition and scrap yards. The jaw on the SC steel cutter is equipped with an auto-guiding system, and the design ensures that the material is forced deep into the jaw where the cutting power is strongest.

All SC steel cutters are fitted with replaceable blades and offer maximum availability with minimum operating costs. The attachment is suitable for use with carriers ranging from 16t to 110t, depending on whether it is stick or boom mounted.

DC drum cutters

DC drum cutters are an ideal choice for rock or concrete wall and surface profiling, trenching, frozen soil excavation, soft rock excavation, demolition, and dredging. The technology allows accurate removal of material in tunnels and trenches, and from any other kind of rock or concrete surface. Complementing Atlas Copco hydraulic breakers they offer an additional solution for softer rock applications up to a strength of 100Mpa.

Attachments in the DC drum cutter range are available from 200kg to 2.9t and are suitable for carriers of 1t to 50t. The attachments can be used underwater to a depth of 30m without additional installation. Low noise and vibration levels make Atlas Copco drum cutters suitable for use on restricted sites and in sensitive urban areas.

Hydraulic breaker SB 1102

Unlike any other breaker in this weight class the SB 1102 hydraulic breaker has a solid body, a one-piece housing, which makes the compact SB 1102 easy to handle. The percussion mechanism and guide system are integrated into a single block of steel, eliminating the need for side bolts. The integrated, maintenance-free accumulator is easily accessible yet well protected from external impact.

The SB 1102 hydraulic breaker makes light work of a wide range of construction and demolition jobs. Intensive research, innovative product design and know-how in the field of breaker technology, has resulted in lower fuel consumption, lower vibrations and less noise.

Petrol driven breaker Cobra Pro i

Atlas Copco is the first to introduce a petrol driven breaker with an electronic fuel injection system. The engine in the Cobra Pro i uses the same technology as can be found in a modern car.

The benefits include up to 30% savings on fuel, thanks to the optimum combustion process, but also top performance and up to 10% more power at all working speeds. Starting is easy from hot or cold without risk of icing, regardless of altitude. The engine in the Cobra Pro i requires less routine maintenance yet stays in tune longer.

Electric handheld breaker Cobra Electro

Atlas Copco’s focus in the development of a new electric handheld breaker has been to achieve best in class energy efficiency, breaking capability and power-to-weight ratio.

The Cobra Electro is simple to use and efficiency is best in class at 61.5%. It has the lowest weight of an electric breaker, offering a good power-to-weight ratio. The Cobra Electro is silent in operation, hand-arm vibration values are low, and the machine requires only minimum maintenance.
