New ‘Eagle’ shears 3

Mantovanibenne presented for the first time at bauma 2022 the Eagle shears 3, the new generation of shears to work in any conditions and without compromise. This year a new model takes off, the new SH600R Eagle 3, a 6.3t shear for 55t-70t excavators, and is said to be in high demand and will be presented in spring at the next SaMoTer fair in Italy. It was the winner of the SaMoTer Innovation Award 2023, in the Attachments, Demolition and Recycling category.

The Eagle shears 3 are believed by the Italian company to be a game changer in the demolition and recycling industry as they provides numerous benefits to those who use them. One of the primary strengths of the Eagle shears 3 is versatility. The attachment can be used for a wide range of applications, including demolition, scrap processing, and metal waste recycling. The Eagle shears 3 are also designed with precision in mind. The jaws are capable of opening and closing with great accuracy, allowing operators to make precise cuts and minimise waste. This precision is particularly useful in situations where the space is limited, and the operator needs to be careful not to damage surrounding structures.

The shears have also been built to last. They are made from high quality materials that can withstand heavy use and harsh working conditions. This durability means that the attachment requires minimal maintenance that reduces downtime on the job site. Furthermore, the Eagle shear 3 is designed to be efficient. The new geometry allows it to cut through even the toughest materials quickly, reducing the time needed to complete a project. This efficiency not only saves time and money but also increases productivity, allowing construction companies to take on more projects and grow their business.

The technical characteristics of Eagle shear 3 are said to be a shorter frame, a unique weight to performance ratio and greater stability making the range the ideal solution in any situation, without compromising on productivity. The line, in fact, has been designed to increase the cutting force on all models and the new design of the mouth allows an opening up to 9% larger. The jaws are cut with a high pressure water jet to avoid possible weakening due to high temperatures; the upper jaw has been completely redesigned to operate with high levels of stability, and made from a single element without welding. The line is equipped with a new type of interchangeable piercing tip that offers greater protection and reliability, with easier maintenance, reduced operating costs and downtime. The blade seats are milled from the solid to increase resistance.

The cylinder is inverted to protect the rod inside, whilst the enlarged bore develops more power by accelerating the cycles (opening and closing speed). The rod is forged from the solid, thus says the company ensuring superior resistance when compared to a conventional cylinder, and is equipped with premium quality seals that can last over 3,000h. The most heavily used parts are armoured with interchangeable Hardox 500 steel plates installed on the jaw profiles to avoid frequent maintenance operations that could affect the operational readiness of the shear. The armouring allows the shear to resist any impact without altering their structure, maintaining a very high level of wear resistance.

Mantovanibenne believes its Eagle shears 3 are an excellent investment for anyone in the construction industry. Their versatility, precision, safety features, durability, and efficiency make them a valuable tool for a wide range of applications.
