WORX+ gives World of Concrete a show with ‘King Series grinders’’ debut
Published 27/2 at 13:29WORX+ made a bold entrance into the grinder market with the debut of the new ‘GrindWorx King Series’ grinders at World of Concrete 2025. The launch event was held on the first day of the show with the unveiling of King Series grinders, two GK700s and GK850s.
The machines were put to the test on a dedicated concrete slab to showcase their power, precision, and efficiency. The release of the King Series marks the first time in 24years the team behind WORX+ have released a grinder into the marketplace (since King Concepts). The grinders have been designed to improve the productivity of contractors, now with a complete package that includes planetary grinders, tooling, equipment, floor treatment, machinery servicing, and education.
The King Series contains currently two models, GK700 and GK850. Liem Bui, marketing manager at WORX+ stated that the King Series changes everything, marking the beginning of a new era. “King Series has the power to bring your vision to life. Every component of the King Series is designed to excel and endure, to empower your mark on the trade. With the King Series it isn’t just grinding, it’s living the grind. So, take the reins and push the boundaries of your grind, because the possibilities are endless with the WORX+ King Series Grinders.”
Unique radio control
The Kings Series has what the company says is a unique radio control system. According to Bui: ”The remote control gives cutting edge control with stable wireless connection, and this is what the King Series RC delivers. The RC variants bring new technology to your fingertips, untapping productivity you never thought possible, think one press U-turns and reverse autopilot.”
Big power
A 22kW permanent magnet motor crowns the King Series, offering intelligent control and integrated sensors that deliver real time feedback to frequency inverters. This is designed to enable the operator to fine tune operations and maximise performance at every stage of the process. The 22kW motor provides power under control as operators have the option to set the output based on the power available onsite.
More efficient and more durable
The King Series has heavy duty parts for heavy duty jobs, made possible by the permanent magnet motor’s reduction in weight in comparison to standard induction electric motors. This is said to provide the flexibility for added strength and rigidity in other components such as its heavy duty axle and bearings.
Real time diagnostics, more time grinding
With the King Series operators are said to have unprecedented access to the grinder’s live performance and GPS location via WORX+’s online portal which is designed to catch problems before they arise. This means easy real time troubleshooting, performance tracking, and added security. The powerful wheel drive control system means that operators can ascend unparallelled inclines up to 30o. There is also the facility to customise the responsiveness to joystick movements for precise control.
Radio control revitalised
With what is claimed to be cutting edge tech infrastructure, the radio control system is designed for reliable connectivity enabling operators to keep grinding. With a few touches, operators can have fine control over all vital inputs. With one look, the operator can see key grinding productivity information and the grinder’s rotational disc and planetary head direction. With the King Series autopilot mode operators only need to line the King Series RC up once and watch as it automatically U-turns and lane merges; technology expected for static high precision manufacturing, now available for mobile surface manufacturing. The advanced control algorithm means autopilot mode doesn’t just move forwards; it also moves in reverse to remove turn requirements.
Geometry that conquers every job
The King Series has been specially designed for optimal handling for what the company says is unprecedented manoeuvrability in tight working environments. The King Series is ready for transport with its fold out jockey wheel and fit for purpose chassis geometry. The facility also exists for the King Series to use mains power to trickle charge the onboard battery system when it’s in storage with the built in USB port. WORX+ is now taking pre-orders for the King Series.
