OilQuick’s new grapple

After months of rigorous field testing with select customers, the verdict is unanimous: the new OilQuick grapple is the ultimate game changer. All test pilots are extremely excited with all of the new features. This groundbreaking grapple is now available for order and is set to revolutionise the market.”
Johan continues: “What makes it exceptional? The secret lies in the ‘OQ Sync’ technology. A traditional system depends on the load and speed of the grapple jaws. If one jaw encounters resistance, the other jaw wants to move at a higher speed, causing them to become out of phase in the gripping motion. With OQ Sync, automatic equalisation of the jaws occurs every time the grapple jaws are fully closed. This completely eliminates the risk of the jaws becoming out of sync, for example, in case of uneven loading or when slow closing the jaws. OQ Sync ensures that the grapple jaws always meet tip to tip and that all lifts occur centred in the grapple.”
The features of the new grapple module include: 100% synchronised grapple claws at all positions and speeds; ability to grip larger objects with extended reach and depth; centred grip on small objects down to Ø 12mm; 2,000kg lifting capacity and up to 21kN tip to tip gripping force. It is made from high strength cast steel, has bevelled edges on the grapple claws to protect delicate objects as well as protected brackets and tips.
The first models GM970 and GM1100 fits OilQuick’s OQ70, OQ70/55 and OQ80 quick couplers and can therefore be applied to OilQuick’s tiltrotators E19, E26 and E33. More models will be released throughout this year for smaller quick couplers and tiltrotators.
