New Year, new challenges, and new beginnings
Published 22/12, 2023 at 10:17As 2023 is approaching its end, it’s a great time to stop and reflect on the work done by the European Demolition Association, EDA, and what is yet to come.
It was a year full of activities, initiatives and publications undertaken by our association. As usual, the highlight was the annual convention in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with over 190 professionals attending the event. There, they had the chance to visit the beautiful exhibition space, situated under the plane in the Corendon Hotel, as well as attend the gala dinner in the National Maritime Museum, a truly unforgettable experience.
2023 also brought with it many publications, such as new guides and, of course, the EDA Yearbook 2023, where demolition professionals from all around the world shared their knowledge and ideas, uniting the industry once again. Last, but not least, the EDA shined through with its participation in other events and initiatives, such as CEN/TC and 2050 Construction Alliance.
With all those activities, the association, once again, showcased not only its professionalism, but also its passion for the construction and demolition sector.
As for our plans for 2024, we already have a few! At least two publications, a new guide on recyclable C&D materials, and the EDA Yearbook 2024, will make an appearance, as well as the special publication 2024, published by the European Decontamination Institute. This is centred around the decontamination of hazardous substances.
Finally, our star event, the EDA Annual Convention, will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, from 13 to 15 June 2024. Organised in partnership with the EDI and the Serbian Demolition Association, we will transform the famous ‘White City’ into a meeting point of demolition, decontamination and recycling industry professionals. Three days filled with workshops, conferences, networking sessions and, of course, leisure activities, as well as a welcome cocktail and gala dinner event. It is set to be an unforgettable experience!
