Hycon introduces the HPS12
Published 2/4 at 10:42Hycon’s goal was to redefine the hydraulic power saw by making it more ergonomic, lighter, and shorter than any other saw on the market
Hycon is committed to compact design, and the company states that is has engineered the HPS12 with what the company says is the shortest body of its type, measuring just 48cm in length. This makes it 7cm shorter than comparable power saws, reducing unnecessary weight and enabling the tool to easily access tight spaces. To improve user performance and comfort, a wall walker for the top of the saw to leverage the wall when cutting has been developed. The wall walker pushes back behind the body edge, so it doesn’t take anything from the maximum cutting depth which can be anything between 254mm and 635mm depending on bar length.
Purpose designed for guide rail
To further increase usability, Hycon states that it has developed a unique adaptor to the ‘SawEZ’ guide rail, making it the only power saw on the market that can be used with a guide rail. Hycon states that it also addressed a common issue found in most hydraulic power saws: the weight added by short hose whips. These often shift weight to the back of the tool due to heavy couplings. To counter this, the saw comes standard with 2m hose whips, allowing the couplings to rest on the ground and eliminating unnecessary dead weight for a more balanced and user friendly experience.
The ergonomic, lightweight handle is made of fibreglass reinforced nylon designed for comfort and ease during daily use. The saw uses Hycon’s ‘Power Drive’ which has a high return pressure capability which handles up to 40bar. This is said to deliver three times higher return pressure than a standard hydraulic motor, enabling the running of longer hoses without any blown seals. It also possesses a trigger activated water functionality.
“At Hycon, we always push the boundaries of design and functionality. By making the HPS12 7cm shorter than comparable power saws, we’ve created a tool that is not only more ergonomic but also gives professionals the ability to work in tight spaces without compromising power or efficiency. On top of that, the HPS12is the only power saw on the market that works with a guide rail system. With the Hycon SawEZ guide rail, we’re giving contractors and cutting professionals a low effort, high precision solution that ensures the perfect cut, every time.
“We’ve engineered a saw that can handle up to 40bar of return pressure, three times the market standard. That means no blown seals, longer hoses, and unmatched durability. In short, the Hycon HPS12 power saw is built to outperform and outlast anything else out there,” said Martin Møller, CEO Hycon. “We know that professional cutting is anything but standard. That’s why our hydraulic tools are engineered for relentless power and durability. The Hycon Power Drive handles three times more back pressure than other products on the market, keeping your cutter on the job longer with no downtime.”
