Get ready for Demtech 2024 in Greater Noida

Approximately one year after the Demtech conference in Bengaluru, India, the Indian Demolition Association, IDA, is again organising Demtech 2024. This will be in conjunction with bauma Conexpo India at the India Expo Center in Greater Noida.

There is barely a month left until the tradeshow bauma Conexpo India. The show will be held between 11 and 14 December at the India Expo Center in Greater Noida, just outside New Delhi. Roughly 600 companies will exhibit at the tradeshow, which is approximately the same number of exhibitors as in 2023, when the show had roughly 41,000 visitors from 84 countries. Most of the exhibitors come from India, with the number of foreign companies exhibiting having decreased significantly. Some reasons for this could be the current economic situation in many markets and also the fact that the bauma Munich tradeshow will be held in Germany in April 2025.

Demtech 2024 in conjunction with bauma Conexpo India

Whilst many parts of the world are experiencing economic problems, the Indian construction sector is booming. Many commentators believe that perhaps the most sensible choice for many non-Indian manufacturers would be to invest in the Indian market right now. Something that has been written about many times in PDi this year is that IDA, the Indian Demolition Association, is organising its annual meeting and tradeshow Demtech in collaboration with bauma Conexpo India, with the IDA conference arranged for Friday 13 December. The conference room is located in the mezzanine above hall 3, in the same location as bauma Conexpo India, with Demtech being held over the same four days as bauma Conexpo India.

This year’s sponsors of Demtech and the IDA conference are Epiroc - Affiliate Sponsor - and Mantovanibenne - Silver Sponsor. At bauma Conexpo India, a number of companies will be exhibiting which have previously exhibited at Demtech but this time will not be exhibiting in the Demtech designated area, which means that the demolition industry's players will be scattered around the show ground. However, in the Demtech area the following companies are exhibiting: SDT Sanwa, Dee Tec, Dr Fritsch India, Epiroc, MBI Mantovanibenne, MDT Madras Diamond Tools, Prime Technologies, Professional Drilling exhibiting, ACT, Matte & Associates, ABCON, Genesis, Hi Tech, ST Speed Age Tools, PK Unique Projects and Edifice out. The magazines PDi and PDa will also be in attendance.

Two successful events and hopefully one more in 2024

The outlook for this year’s IDA and Demtech looks good with an interesting lineup of speakers promised. More about the programme can be found on the Demtech website (www.demtech.in). Demtech was organised for the first time in 2019 in Mumbai. Then came the pandemic, which meant that it would be four years before the next Demtech was arranged in Bengaluru. After the 2023 meeting, discussions were held to discuss holding the next meeting and trade show together with bauma Conexpo India. However, some voices have been raised noting that it can be difficult to organise the event every year, with many saying that every other year is preferred. It was also raised that if Demtech is co-run with such a large show as bauma Conexpo India, then Demtech could lose out. Many exhibitors might also prefer to exhibit at the larger show instead of in a separate exhibition. It was also stated that if Demtech is its own standalone event with conference and tradeshow, much greater focus would given to sponsors and exhibitors.

It should also be noted that when visiting the bauma Conexpo India website there is nothing mentioned about Demtech. Maybe it would be in Demtech’s best interests that bauma Conexpo India should say something about the event and that the Demtech trade show is part of bauma Conexpo India. We hope that the outcome of Demtech 2024 will be as successful as the events in 2019 and 2023. On both occasions, over 500 key players from the Indian demolition, recycling, remediation and concrete cutting industries participated each time.
