Finally the EDA Annual Convention to be held once again

The EDA Annual Convention will take place in Paris (France), 9 to 11 June, 2022.

It will be held in collaboration with the French Association, SEDDRE, and the European Decontamination Institute, EDI.A. It is a reference event for DDR (demolition, decontamination and recycling), where contractors and suppliers from all corners of the European continent will meet.

 

Packed workshop programme

The first day of the professional programme will contain a number of workshops starting at 11:00hrs under the heading of, ‘Equipment and technology for DDR’, and includes a presentation of the guidelines for attachments, carriers, couplers and high reach work, among others. The second workshop for the day is titled, ‘Circular economy in construction’.  Johan Vyncke from RILEM will then talk about the initiatives of research centres whilst Elma Durmisevic, SuperLocal Project, will present a case story from the Netherlands. Miguel Ángel Pérez-Peñalva from Hercal Diggers will speak on the subject: ‘Circular demolition and waste recycling’, and at 17:00 the EDA General Assembly will be held. At 19:00 the welcome cocktail party for EDA members and guests will be held at the Renaissance Paris Nobel Tour Eiffel Hotel.

 

Conference day

On Friday, 10 June, the conferences and networking continues at 9:00 and will take place at the Pavillon Dauphine Saint Clair. There will be simultaneous translation to several languages. The first session of the day is titled: ‘EU Policies for a circular construction industry’, and contains the contributions of Fulvia Raffaelli, European Commission – DG GROW and William Sinclair, Safedem, who will present the best practices and technical challenges for demolition with explosives. Holly Price from Keltbray will present a case story titled: ‘Challenges for DDR in the UK and how to overcome them’. The second conference session continues with Karol Baran from Gruppa Tree under the heading of: ‘Innovation and smart demolition practices in Poland’. Souhila Paré, SEDDRe will also talk about new asbestos challenges in Europe. Vittorio Omini, Omini Demolizioni Industriali, will present a case story titled: ‘Demolition of the Morandi bridge in Genova, Italy’. After lunch there will be plenty of time to network and visit the exhibition.

The third conference session of the day contains a speech from Riccardo Viaggi, CECE, concerning digitalisation in construction and how the working environment is changing. Martin Hopfe, Deutscher Sprengverband will present a case story on the demolition of a high rise residential building in Duisburg, Germany, whilst Anna Chtorkh from Curium will present the case story titled: ‘Decontamination of hazardous substances at industrial facilities’.

During the fourth conference session, Roland Starke, Austrian Ministry of Environment will talk about experiences in recycling and reuse of C&D Waste in Austria. David Assaf, Greenmix Benny and Zvika Ltd. will present the topic: ‘From demolition operations to producer of secondary raw materials in Israel’. Patrick Frye and Ivan Poroli, Cardem and Despe respectively, will then present the case story: ‘Cooperation in demolition, bringing down the train station in Lyon, France’.

The professional programme ends at 17.30 and at 18.30 the gala dinner will start at the Eiffel Tower. During the dinner the ceremony for the change of EDA president and the Club of Honour will take place. For more information and registration please visit the European Demolition Association website.
