Thanks to new legislation: Recycling crushing gains foothold in Spain

New legislation, to be introduced in Spain over the next few years, calls for 100% recycling of all rock based materials, which for example will include material from demolition of buildings. For this reason, several Spanish contractors are focusing on mobile recycle crushing equipment.

In the centre of Spainís third largest city Valencia, mobile recycling is the only choice. At the La Patacona 150,000 m2 housing area, close to the Playa Malvarosa beach, materials for recycling are being crushed onsite and utilised as land fill, avoiding extra traffic in the city.
At the site a Lokotrack LT105 mobile jaw plant from Metso Minerals is crushing demolition debris, including cement blocks with a large number of steel rebars and tiles. The unit is fed by a Liebherr 904 excavator. The Lokotrack LT105, with a 45 mm closed side setting in the Nordberg C105 jaw crusher, produces around 150 t/h of clean, recyclable end products.
The Lokotrack LT105, rented by EMIL Import SA, is operated by Hermanos March working for contractor Drenex SA. Later on Drenex will use a brand new Lokotrack LT105 jaw plant and a Lokotrack LT1213 impactor.
