Major Sponsors for DEMCON 2010
DEMCON 2010 is being sponsored and supported by several well-known companies and associations in the demolition industry. That these companies have chosen to support the show is highly valued by the organiser and proof of the show’s reliability.
The new demolition show DEMCON 2010, to be held on 9-10 September 2010 at InfraCity Exhibition Centre in Stockholm, now has several major sponsors.
“We are very pleased that these well-known manufacturers believe in DEMCON and are sponsoring the show. It is for us as organisers confirmation that DEMCON is considered a valuable show for this industry, not only in Scandinavia but also globally. DEMCON is the follow-up to the popular show Demotech that was held at the end of the 1990s and beginning of 2000s,” says Jan Hermansson from SCOP AB.
Three sponsor levels
There are three sponsor levels. The sponsors on the gold level are Pentruder AB, Husqvarna Construction Products AB and Tyrolit AB. The silver sponsors are Pullman Ermator AB and Jack Midhage AB. The bronze level is waiting for sponsors.
The Gold Sponsors
Pentruder AB, a Swedish subsidiary to the mother company Tractive AB, has a strong position as a manufacturer of state-of-the-art equipment for sawing and drilling in concrete and other types of building materials. The range contains of a wide selection of high cycle equipment as well as the well-known hydraulic saws. The brand has the same name as the company, Pentruder, and is sold through its own subsidiaries around the world as well as a network of distributors.
Husqvarna Construction Products AB is the world’s biggest manufacturer of diamond tools, machinery and equipment for sawing, drilling, demolition, grinding and polishing of concrete and other types of building materials. The range contains high cycle, hydraulic, electric and petrol driven equipment. Husqvarna has recently entered the remotely controlled demolition segment by launching their first demolition robot and are now about to launch two more models in their DXR series. The extensive line of products are manufactured at several factories in Europe, USA and Asia. Husqvarna Construction Products AB and Tractive AB with Pentruder are both Swedish manufacturers.
Tyrolit AB, the third gold sponsor member, is an Austrian manufacturer of diamond tools and equipment for concrete sawing an drilling dating back to the early days of the 19th century. It is part of the well-known Swarovski Group and known as the provider of strong and durable equipment for heavy duty concrete sawing and drilling tasks. An in-depth presentation of the company can be found on pages 32-34 in this issue. Tyrolit has a strong and long reputation in the Nordic market, as it is one of the biggest manufacturers of diamond tools and machinery for concrete cutting for use within the professional sector. The machines are sold under the product name Tyrolit Hydrostress. This year the market will experience maybe the biggest launch ever of new products from Tyrolit and the introductions will take place at Bauma in April. The products are manufactured at Tyrolit’s factories located all over the world. Tyrolit’s position has also been strengthened by the Tyrolit Cutting Pro Competition, which is an international concrete sawing and drilling competition for professionals in this field. It was organised by Tyrolit in 2008 for the first time and the second edition takes place this year with a grand finale in Innsbruck in January 2011. First a series of national competitions will be held and the winners from each country meet in the final in Innsbruck. The final for the Nordic countries will take place at the DEMCON show in September (www.cuttingprocompetition.com).
The Silver Sponsors
Pullman Ermator AB has positions itself strongly during the last decade as a developer and manufacturer high quality machines and equipment for professional dust extraction and slurry containment. Efficient designs with multiple HEPA-filter systems takes efficiently care of the hazardous dust created at demolition, concrete cutting and concrete floor grinding and polishing jobs. Pullman Ermator has repeatedly been praised for their efficient machines making the every day work less dangerous for the professional contractor. The manufacturer is currently about to launch a number of innovations which will be on display at the Bauma show in Germany later this month. The Pullman Ermator range is well-known since many years among professional concrete cutters, demolition contractors and flooring companies as well as among machine rental companies. The products are sold through their own subsidiaries as well as a net of distributors and agents. Recently Pullman Ermator set up a Joint-Venture business with the US manufacturer Pullman Holt in Florida in order to increase the market share on the US market.
On the silver sponsor level we also find the Swedish diamond tool manufacturer and retail company Jack Midhage AB. The company was founded by the deceased Jack Midhage who clearly put a mark in the international concrete sawing and drilling industry with his many innovations. The company is located with head office in Båstad, Sweden and has a production plant in Gothenburg. Jack Midhage AB has supplied the Nordic construction industry with tools and machines for nearly half a century and is a well-known name in particularly Sweden. Besides their own manufacturing of diamond tools Jack Midhage AB also sell the well-known Zenesis series of diamond tools in Sweden as well as all sort of tools for floor grinding, hard metal blades, tiger blades, core drills as well as machines and equipment from manufacturers like Schwamborn, Cedima, Braun, Core Products, Baier, WEKA, Hycon and SAVI.
Association partners and supporters
The DEMCON show is supported by two Swedish branch associations, which are the Swedish Concrete Sawing & Drilling Association and the Swedish Demolition and Industrial Cleaning and Remediation Association. Both organisations are part of the Swedish Construction Federation. Another partner is the international umbrella association for professional concrete sawing and drilling contractors, IACDS (International Association Concrete Drillers & Sawers). Worth mentioning, even though they are not yet an association partner to DEMCON, is that the European Demolition Association (EDA) will hold one of their board meetings in conjunction with DEMCON this year.
Further is the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre, Svenska Mässan, and its Building Machinery Show (Byggmaskiner) official supporter of DEMCON. Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre has no ownership in DEMCON but there is a close co-operation between the two shows, DEMCON and Building Machinery in Gothenburg. Nest Building Machinery show (Byggmaskiner) will take place in March 2011.
Official Show Magazines
Official show magazines for DEMCON is the Scandinavian demolition, concrete cutting and recycling magazine Professionell Demolering and its international sister magazine PDi Magazine. All information about the show and new products that will be released at DEMCON will be published online at www.PDWorld.com as well as www.demcon.se.
